So you’re a fashionista

Needless to say you’ve come to the right place [special post, by and for a teenaged girl, including the strong political statements].

Of course we would skip the big shopping centre “Les Halles” in which you would find the usual suspect brands like Zara, H&M or Pull&Bear (suspect of global warming, child slavery, Ouïghour deportation, and, worse of all, conformism/uniformity). Nonetheless, should you choose to see it by yourself, if only for its daring architecture, Momen’Tea will help you get over it (they make the BEST bubble tea this side of town).

But being in this neighborhood, you can’t miss the thrift shops. There are easily ten of them near the flat, including these:

  • Episode, 12 rue Tiquetonne, 75002
There are in fact stores next door to each other and have a great selection of clothes, on the pricy side
  • Ohr Vintage, Sq. Pierre Lazareff, 75002
Good selection of shoes & clothes
  • Hippy Market, 71 rue Rambuteau, 75004
The claim: “Hippy Market offers pieces with a hippy, chic and unique style, emblem of the fashion culture inspired directly from Woodstock, the “Flower Power” period. In an absolute colorful and original style, our accessories are carefully sorted in order to offer a wide and quality range.”
  • Freepstar, 51 rue Saint-Denis. 75001
Actually a chain of half a dozen addresses in Paris for vintage clothings
  • Kiloshop, 65 rue de la Verrerie, 75004, or 10 boulevard Montmartre, 75010, just name two stores.
A European chain of vintage clothing.
  • Oh Lumière, 21 av. de la République, 75011
Second hand clothing with a reputation.

We also recommend going to the 6th arrondissement to stores like Subdued or Brandy Melville (at least if you’re not coming from the States). They are a bit more pricey but they are also more ethical than the usual suspects brands, and they offer an extensive range of trendy clothing and accessories for teens girls in love with their mother’s 90s style.

While going to Oh Lumière, in the 11th Arrondissement, if you’re looking for a place to have a drink, we’d recommend that you visited some of the most popular spots around. Les Affranchis, Mon Coco, Au grand Turenne and Goku are popular bars for a coffee, cocktails and food (especially Goku with its tasty and affordable Asian food).
