Making your own personalized fragrance has been trending for a while. Imagine a fragrance no-one would be wearing but you, which would become your olfactive signature wherever you go. Well … I was explained once in St Paul de Vence that each great perfumes would react to ones skin, and make a reaction which would make it unique to this person.
Nonetheless, some components react better than others, and there is the initiatique path along the search for this unique signature.
Here is our selection for you.
Nose
Doesn’t actually make a bespoke perfume, but offers an olfactive diagnosis which surely bring some answers. — 20 rue Bachaumont, 75002

Le Studio des parfums
Of course, after defining your own fragrance, you’ll be able to reorder it. — 23 rue du Bourg Tibourg, 75004 (Le Marais)

Guerlain Le Marais
Who doesn’t know Guerlain? Since 1828 both a creator and the keeper of an olfactive tradition famous around the world and through many generations. Well, on top of their iconic flacon, they have a bespoke perfume service for you. Relying in their existing creations, it works in four steps:
- First and hardest, choose the perfume, or start the very long (and expensive) process of having a bespoke perfume.
- Choose the flacon (the Bee Flacon is one classic among others)
- Pick the color of the cordon
- Engrave the flacon to remember this forever
Guerlain le Marais, 10 rue des Francs Bourgeois, 75004 (le Marais), but the Guerlain Vendôme store also provides this service (256 rue St Honoré, 75008).

10 Rue des Francs Bourgeois, 75003 Paris
Sillage
Founded by Maxime Garcia-Janin, Sillage seems to be there for a while. A personal appointment at the Atelier, and you’re likely to find this unique fragrance that you deserve, “parce que vous le valez bien“.

One thing to be noted, is the disclosure of all those chemicals you will NOT find in a Sillage creation (usually written in very small tiny letters, on industrial perfume packagings):

5 rue de Charonne, 75011. Cour Jacques Viguès (2nd courtyard on your right) Door code : A89B43, on appointment only. Métro Bastille ou Ledru Rollin
Serge Luten
It seems impossible to write about Parisian perfume creators without mentioning Serge Luten. Though this multi-talented artist launched his own brand only in 2000, he became an overnight sensation: he was awarded the FiFi award (the “Oscars of the fragrance industry” according to Wikipedia) for four consecutives years.
Needless to say that the Palais Royal boutique is a must, and that a bespoke perfume is out of the question, unless you are royalty or movie star — 142 Galerie de Valois 75001 (in the Palais Royal Garden)
